Wimbledon - Patterns, Colours and Pictures

Our Week in the Forest

There has been a real excitement at Little Forest Folk Wimbledon this week! The tennis may be happening nearby, but our children have been excited by the incredible activities and games we have had in the forest. There has been nature painting, sensory trays and bumblebee making to name just a few!

Nature painting involved the children finding different plants, pinecones and leaves from around the forest and then dipping them into paint to create a pattern. It was lovely to see all of the different patterns, colours and pictures that were created.

We also had a fun sensory tray where our Little Forest Folk-ers could explore lots of different textures. We had coloured fake snow and packing peanuts which were all bio-degradable, so it would be safe for the environment, and the children could explore the different textures of them. We added water to see what would happen and mixed them together to create a new potion!

It has also been extra lovely as we have been able to spend a lot of time as one big group recently, meaning our Bunnies and Foxes have had a chance to play together all day. The friendships have strengthened and we have been able to do more fun, larger activities with everyone involved! It’s been a fantastic week!
