What an interesting week we have had in the forest! The weather threw everything at us, torrential rain one minute and glorious sunshine the next.  In true Little Forest Folk style the children and staff have enjoyed it all in equal measures!

The children have been sharing their interests and requests with us this week and it’s been really clear upon reflection that there has been a very strong interest in building fires. We observed some children engaging in fire building role play so suggested we could go off-site to collect sticks to build a real fire...

This week the children’s imaginations have reached new levels! Once again we have had limited resources available and it really seems to promote wonderful play scenarios. We have made (mud!) ice cream with sprinkles and built fires to cook various findings! 

Wow this has been a wet week. Our forest is squishy, squelchy, muddy and wet. The children are in heaven!

What an interesting week. Glorious sunshine for the majority of the week with then torrential rain on one afternoon meaning such extensive floods that we had to carry the children across the bridge for our journey back to the car park! The children thought the storm and the subsequent flooding were amazing...
