What a beautiful week we have had in the forest! We have been hugging the shade all week long, and the children have done brilliantly considering how hot and tired the weather has made them...

What an interesting week we have had in the forest! The weather threw everything at us, torrential rain one minute and glorious sunshine the next.  In true Little Forest Folk style the children and staff have enjoyed it all in equal measures!

The children have been sharing their interests and requests with us this week and it’s been really clear upon reflection that there has been a very strong interest in building fires. We observed some children engaging in fire building role play so suggested we could go off-site to collect sticks to build a real fire...

This week the children’s imaginations have reached new levels! Once again we have had limited resources available and it really seems to promote wonderful play scenarios. We have made (mud!) ice cream with sprinkles and built fires to cook various findings! 

Wow this has been a wet week. Our forest is squishy, squelchy, muddy and wet. The children are in heaven!
