Our Week in the Forest
What lovely adventures we have been on at Little Forest Folk Winkworth this week, we have even been to France on the Eurostar! Tickets at the ready, our Little Forest Folk-ers had to use the different shaped punchers to punch some holes in the ticket before they could get on. Once they had all boarded the different carriages, it was time to set off through the tunnel.
We also went on a big walk into the forest in the Arboretum to do some den building. What fantastic team work our little adventurers showed as they realised that the logs were too long and heavy to move themselves and so they worked together to lift them up. Once the den was built, it opened up a magical world of imagination as it became a boat with a net being lowered to catch the fish and then a house that needed repairing with a stick as a screwdriver.
Little Forest Folk Winkworth also had a visit from the funfair. There was a swing to go on, a slide, even a hotdog and candyfloss stand with sticks wrapped in leaves for the hotdogs and shaving foam on a stick for the candyfloss. Our little explorers' cutting skills were put to action when they cut out their own unique shapes and added a stick to make their own ‘ice lolly’. They even added some decorations on the top. The slide was very fun and lots of joyful ‘weeeeeeeeees’ could be heard as they were on their way down. The see-saw was also super popular, with our little ones working out the different weights on the different sides to make it go up and down.
