Our week in the forest!
Thank you all for attending our wonderful Christmas party on Friday, we all had a wonderful time welcoming you into the forest. We enjoyed roasting marshmallows around the fire and creating delicious gooey smores, and sipping on hot chocolate, coffee and Gluhwein (mulled wine). Then you all bravely ventured off into the forest to experience the fabulous, dark, torch lit scavenger hunt. The end of the party concluded with a story time with Santa's red nosed reindeer and gift-giving in a beautifully decorated barn covered in twinkling fairy lights.
This week we have immersed ourselves in arts and crafts, creating melting snowmen on wooden discs, winter trees, Christmas pine cones with pom pom decorations, animal themed party hats and reindeer food parcels.
We played with our friends, practised our sharing, enjoyed dinosaur sensory play in soft, fine, corn flour as well as playing on the Santa sleigh that was set up with logs, crates and reins to hold as each child imagined flying through the sky on a crisp wintery night.
Our favourite books this week have been “The Christmas Eve Tree” by Delia Huddy, “Elmer’s Christmas” by David Mckee, “Ten Little Elves” by Mike Brownlow and “The Night After Christmas” by Kes Gray.
From all of us to all of you, we wish you a very happy holiday and send all our festive wishes.
Happy New Year!
