Our Week in the Forest
With very high winds on Monday, we started the week with a scout hut day where we enjoyed some outdoor activities. We headed to the park to fly the kite! We waited for a gust of wind to ensure the kite was able to fly and then the children enjoyed running up and down the grass to allow the kite to get some height.
We also enjoyed some courgette cutting! Our Little Forest Folk-ers were able to share the safety around using knives and practice using their strong muscles to cut the courgette into a wide range of different shapes.
Back in the forest the children enjoyed lots of climbing up and down the pallet ladder.
We ensured that our feet were placed carefully before climbing down the other side. The children were great at problem solving when they worked out the slats on the pallet were quite close together, readjusting their feet placement!
We have also enjoyed exploring animals, in the form of stamps. We explored colour mixing to create a wide range of gradients before stamping away and creating some gorgeous colourful animal masterpieces.
What a fabulous week, we look forward to more adventures after the weekend! ☺️💨🍃
