Chiswick - Connection, Creativity and Celebration

As we wrap up our summer term we’ve been soaking in every moment of joy, adventure and friendship here at Little Forest Folk Chiswick. It’s been a week full of connection, creativity and celebration and a beautiful way to end our year together.

We filled the week with adventure walks through the park and a visit to the community allotment. The children were fascinated by the changes in the garden, helping the gardeners with apple and pear picking and observing the colours, textures and scents of the blooming summer flowers. These experiences gave us rich opportunities to talk about the seasons, where our food comes from and the importance of taking care of nature.

Back at camp, our imaginations ran wild with role play as the children dressed up in their favourite community worker costumes. From firefighters and postal workers to chefs and doctors our forest became a bustling little town filled with teamwork, storytelling and laughter.

We also made the most of the warm days by climbing trees, swinging in the hammock and spending time building and creating in the mud kitchen. Our creative sessions saw the children making beautiful butterflies, feather wind sticks and other nature-inspired crafts, allowing them to reflect on the world around them while developing fine motor skills and expressing their unique ideas.

As the week came to a close we spent time sharing our summer plans with each other and playing our favourite forest games. These moments of connection reminded us how much our forest friendships have grown this year.

And finally, we are incredibly proud to share some exciting news with the help and dedication of all the children we have been awarded the Green Flag with Distinction by the Eco Schools Project! This award recognises the children’s year-long commitment to sustainability through a variety of projects including planting, recycling, reducing waste and learning about ecosystems. It’s a fantastic achievement and a testament to their growing environmental awareness.

Thank you for a wonderful term. We wish all our families a joyful, restful and nature-filled summer!
