Twickenham - Health in our Bodies!

Our Week in the Forest

Welcome to our forest story. This week we have been investigating and learning about our health, our bodies, healthy food and exercise. We have learnt about international cancer day and how we can keep ourselves healthy and have gentle hands when looking after anyone unwell.

We had a lovely crafty time cutting out images of delicious food from various supermarket catalogues and then we stuck them in our cardboard shopping bags. A few images of  biscuits went in as well as chicken, veggies and fish. The children chatted about their favourite foods and where food comes from.

Our obstacle course throughout the week was built and rebuilt, collating new ideas and challenges as the week progressed. There were some quite tricky, challenging sections as the children reinvented the course.

The mud kitchen was a hive of activity as the rain and perfect mud allowed us to create a cafe one day, a restaurant another and a science lab on other days. Pouring, stirring, mixing and concocting was the order of the days.

To appreciate our gentle caring hands, we each drew around our hands on cardboard and then coloured them in. Some of our little adventurers drew pictures on their cardboard hands too before requesting scissors to cut them out.

It’s been a busy week, thanks for stopping by!
