Wimbledon - Making Healthy Choices!

What a wonderful week we've had in the forest exploring healthy habits, independence, and all the amazing things our bodies can do!

This week's learning focused on eating independently and making healthy choices. The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a variety of health-related activities while developing important self-help skills. A particular highlight was our dental health role-play. The forest was transformed into a bustling dentist's office, where our little dentists and hygienists were equipped with toothbrushes, pretend dental tools and model teeth. They worked carefully and enthusiastically to make every tooth sparkle!

As the week continued, the children spent time discussing the many incredible things their bodies allow them to do. From taking long walks through the forest to climbing, balancing, and chasing games with friends, they recognised how looking after themselves and making healthy food choices helps their bodies feel strong and capable.

Our little ones also enjoyed practicing yoga throughout the week. They explored a range of poses, but the clear favourite involved stretching their legs as high as possible towards the sky! This led to plenty of laughter and smiles as everyone challenged themselves to stretch a little further.

Towards the end of the week, the children were introduced to a new skill in the mud kitchen: chopping fruit and vegetables. They approached the activity with focus and care, demonstrating an excellent understanding of knife safety. Each child took their time, carefully sawing and chopping before proudly adding their prepared ingredients to their mud kitchen creations.

We are so proud of the independence, confidence, and enthusiasm the children have shown this week.
