We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.

Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.

Walking into the forest this week has been magical and as the children stopped at various points to count heads, a Robin flew down from the tree branches onto the brambles and the floor.
Having spent the beginning of the week exploring our new nursery location in Fulham Palace Gardens the children have finally decided upon how they wanted it to look.
It was so lovely to welcome our Little Forest Folk-ers back after the Christmas break and hear all the wonderful things they have done, places they have visited and presents they have received from Father Christmas.
Happy New Year Little Forest Folk-ers! What a wonderful break we all had but ‘by golly’ how excited we all were to get back to the forest! We have only had a short week of just two days but they have certainly been action packed!
January has arrived and with it comes a new year and crisp mornings, bringing an opportunity for adventure outside and play. Our forest is once again alive with the sounds of children after it’s quiet Christmas slumber.
With the festive period in full swing, the children have been sharing their own Christmas stories and talking about their experiences with their friends and educators.
We started this week with a trip to a local Nursing home. Our walk was filled with learning opportunities as we discussed road safety, looked for the numbers on the houses and found the right street signs to turn down by matching the letters to the map.
This week it felt like winter finally arrived. On the beautiful, crisp and frosty mornings the children explored how the ice crystals melted through their touch and when the sunlight went on them.
This week our room feels a little bit like Santa’s workshop, where our elves have been super busy putting the finishing touches on their Christmas ornaments.
