We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.

Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
This has definitely been a week of creativity, exploration and experimentation that has interplayed throughout the forest, with the children inspiring each other through sharing ideas and experiences.
Here at Little Forest Folk Wandsworth we have had a wonderfully creative week. We have been focusing on a lot of craft-based activities which work on developing children’s fine motor skills.
With the leaves on the trees fully opened in anticipation of the summer days that wait just around the corner, the children at Little Forest Folk have been noticing the return of the mini beast families that have started to enjoy the new leaves.
Working on the allotment and climbing on monkey bars! After a long bank holiday weekend, the children were excited to get back to our allotment at Chiswick House!
Construction and creativity has been integral to the children’s activities this week in the forest. Their ability to transform the loose parts into the most imaginative structures, contraptions, traps and experiments has been mind-blowing.
With Monday being a Bank Holiday and Tuesday an Inset day, it’s been a short week, but a lovely one welcoming back some of our friends who have been on holiday over Easter.
After the long Bank Holiday weekend, the children returned to the forest, eager to share stories about their visits from the Easter Bunny or time they have spent with family.
Holiday campers have continued to fill our forests this week and it has been lovely to see how quickly some of these new faces have settled into our forest routines.
With the countdown to Easter well underway we have welcomed our regular children and holiday campers back for a second week of Easter holiday activities in the forest.
What a lovely week we have had in the sun! Hats have been swapped for sun glasses, fleeces swapped for t-shirts and the spring waterproofs have been donned again.
It is the end of the second week of holiday camps and the sun has been shining on Wimbledon. Our children have loved nothing more than getting out of their waterproof jackets and into high visibility vests.
This week we have once again welcomed holiday campers into the forest and as always it has been lovely to see some familiar faces returning as well as getting to know some new children.
The Easter school holidays finally arrived and so our forest has benefited from a number of siblings and older children joining in with our Spring adventures.
This week we have had some enthusiastic adventures into nature. We have found an abundance of different flora and fauna with the children using their powers of detection to find things that even the most trained adults would miss.
Our week started with a lovely day at Kew. Upon arrival at the gates, we noticed that they had signs telling us where to find different flowers; Cherry blossoms, Magnolias, Glory of the snow, Camellias and Daffodils.
