Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
Harder, faster, stronger. All of our Little Forest Folkers are getting that little bit bigger and stronger as the weeks go by, so we as educators are creating challenges that are that bit harder for them.
Today is a bitter sweet day for me. It’s my last baby’s first day in the forest. It’s a good reminder of how difficult settling in can be. Not for the children but for the parents.
This week in the forest the children have really enjoyed the return of spring and the wealth of new opportunities that it has brought to the forest and meadows.
This week we started off in the lovely Kew Gardens where the sun was still shining accompanied with a slight breeze. We scanned the map for what we could do, and all the children agreed on the Treetop walkway.
This week has been a busy week with such a variety of opportunities in the forest and friendships are continuing to blossom. The children have been the most creative explorers throughout the entire time and made the most of what was on offer.

Some dry and sunny weather at last! This week has been pure joy as we explored all of our favourite spaces on site. We spent some time in base camp, on the meadow and in the mud kitchen area.
Glorious! Wonderful, life-giving sunshine has filled our week. It seems that mother nature has flipped a switched and it only feels like last like week we were wrapping ourselves up in 4, 5…8 layers with gloves and hats.
Our last week of spring holiday camps has been simply fantastic! We have so enjoyed spending time with the holiday campers and look forward to having them back again!
3, 2, 1 – Blast Off! It has been a fantastic last week with our holiday campers. We travelled through lands far, far away on our rocket ship visiting our favourite planets on the way.
Our second week of holiday camp has been such an exciting (although muddy) week in the forest and as always, the excitement levels from the children have been sky high.
A very wet week to start with but this did not dampen our spirits. We welcomed some new holiday campers on Monday who were very interested in building obstacles using logs, sticks and twigs.
