As we begin to look ahead to the rest of the summer and with September just around the corner, the change in dynamic in the forest has been at the front of our minds; we have lots of school aged children who will be off to big school in September and their places will be filled with new excited faces.

This week the children have made flags, created art pieces with charcoal, baked birthday cakes, rebuilt the damn to block the dinosaur river, celebrated Eid with henna tattoos, designed crowns and swung higher than any child has dared swing before…we have had such a fun week!

Our week started with lots of excitement as a digger arrived at Paradise to help repair the pond. As the news spread around the forest that a digger would be arriving in the afternoon, the children could hardly contain their delight.

This week the children have been fascinated by the different things set up in the forest. Some weeks as the children arrive you can tell there are themes or interests that will run throughout the day, but our set up this week has very much determined the theme.
