We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
Making and establishing new relationships was our major theme this week and the children went about it in many ways. They shared chase games and hide and seek were very popular! It was so lovely to see the whole group join in.
As the pace in nature’s changes hasten in anticipation of a new season, so too has our new starters ability to manage the site, and the variety of surfaces are being handled very well at some spectacular speeds already!
The warm weather made a welcomed return this week, bringing with it a fantastic week of adventures! The sun has meant that we have had to move some of our exploring areas to more shady places, but they have been just as exciting and full of fun things to do.
The woods felt magical this week! With the sun peeking through the trees’ crowns and the robins sweetly singing to the rhythm of the day, we felt like we got stuck in a land of fairies.
What an exciting week we have had, the children have been so busy! Our new starters are becoming more and more confident with the space and it’s lovely to see them start to charge around and dip into our different activities with gusto.
As we are approaching mid-September, we are starting to see new seasonal changes around us. The mornings are starting off chillier, the leaves are beginning to turn yellow and the grass is often covered with morning dew.
We couldn’t have asked for a better start of the new month! We were reunited with friends that we hadn’t seen due to the long holiday and returned to our indoor space where we started each day with a hearty breakfast.
What a fantastic week we have had so far with all the excitement of old friends returning as well as welcoming so many new friends to play with us in the Forest!
We cannot believe that this is the last week of the summer holidays and we will be seeing all our friends next week. Time flies when you are having fun they say!
There have been many discussions happening this week as the children made observations about all the different types of weather we have experienced in the forest.
