Our Week in the Forest
This week our intent was *Personal, Social and Emotional Development* and what a wonderful week it has been!
We set off on plenty of adventure walks, exploring the woods together and discovering the beauty of nature around us. Along the way, we gathered information about plants, observed the changing seasons and even enjoyed some bird watching - spotting and learning about different types of birds in our environment. 🦢🦜
Our story focus was *Goldilocks and the Three Bears* and *The Three Little Pigs*. We explored the morals within these stories, talking about kindness, respect, choices and consequences. The children shared their own thoughts and opinions, which sparked some lovely discussions and deep thinking. 🐻🐷
To support our PSED focus, we explored emotions through creative activities - making feeling sticks and emotion plates. These helped the children to recognise and express their feelings while also developing empathy and understanding for others. 🔴🔵🟢🟡
As always, the children showed great curiosity and imagination, whether dressing up, building, or role-playing the characters from our stories. Their confidence in sharing ideas and working together is truly shining through!
We are so proud of the way our Little Forest Folk-ers are learning not just about the world around them, but also about themselves and each other. 💚
