Our Week in the Forest
We've had a brilliant time in our last full week before Christmas! Our Morden Little Forest Folk-ers had a lovely time decorating pinecones for Christmas. Using pompoms and pipe cleaners, they turned natural treasures into colourful decorations. It was a simple, happy activity that combined creativity, fine motor skills and loads of communicative language while they played.
The children also enjoyed making pretend 'Christmas cookies' using playdough. They rolled, shaped and decorated their creations with lots of care and imagination. It was a fun, hands-on activity that encouraged creativity and festive play as the children shared smiles and ideas together.
We also loved role playing as Santa and his reindeer, delivering presents around the forest. With lots of imagination, everyone took turns flying through the air, sharing gifts and spreading Christmas cheer.
The children had great fun playing with a sticky-back-plastic Christmas tree, carefully decorating it to make it look festive and beautiful. They used colourful pompoms and collected leaves, pressing them on with focus and precision. The activity encouraged creativity and teamwork as the tree slowly filled with decorations made by little hands. We're very happy with our Christmas tree!!
