Wimbledon - Adventure Walks and Obstacle Course

Our Week in the Forest

A week of adventure and creation at Little Forest Folk Wimbledon! We have been on different adventure walks each day, added new parts to the obstacle course and engaged in so many role play games.

Each adventure walk we’ve embarked on has been with a purpose which has come from the ideas of our Little Forest Folk-ers. One of the ideas was to look for different animals and birds after our earlier bird search in the week. The children went out searching for different signs of birds and other animals, looking for tracks and droppings to work out what was around. We spotted a lot of horse prints on one walk so followed them to see where it could lead us. Our little adventurers counted them and looked at the different sizes, and when we looked up the path we could see a group of horses coming towards us. We spoke about the sizes of the horses, the colours of them and any sounds we could hear. Then we also spotted some green parakeets flying around and watched as they perched on the edge of trees to collect their food. It was great to see so many different creatures in the space we use!

We have also spent lots of time on the obstacle course and adding parts to it. We added a slide, some logs and the big tyre! Our little explorers then took turns to climb up the ramp and do some very quick slides down, splashing into the mud at the end!

A full week of adventures and exploring!
