Wimbledon -Bugs, adventure walks and necklace making

Our Week in the Forest

Bugs, adventure walks and necklace making - just some of the fun things that have been happening at Little Forest Folk Wimbledon this week!

The children have enjoyed looking at a variety of bugs that one of our educators brought in. They got to hold them, look at the little details on their bodies and carefully feel the texture of their skin. We also asked questions about them to get more details and particularly enjoyed gaining more knowledge on the stick insects.

There was also a chance for necklace and bracelet making this week using brightly coloured wooden beads. Our Little Forest Folk-ers took it in turns to choose their string and then worked out how to thread the beads on. At first it was quite tricky, but then we realised we could add some tape to the end of the string to make it easier to thread. It was lovely to see the different colours come together and the final products looked incredible!

We have also enjoyed lots of adventure walks this week which has been so much fun, especially for our older holiday campers! It is great to get out and see a bit more of the forest, exploring new paths and seeing what we can find along the way. Whilst on our journeys, our little adventurers enjoyed some bug hunting, looking for blackberries and climbing too. We took maps and pictures along with us so that we could match up the things we saw and found, and this showed off some exceptional knowledge about the forest around us!

We look forward to another fun week next week, welcoming back even more holiday campers!

It has been a busy last week of term and we are excited for all the Summer fun in the coming weeks!!
