Chiswick - An Alphabet Treasure Hunt

It’s been cold and frosty this week, but we’ve kept ourselves warm with hot milk, tea, hot chocolate, and also by being super active in the forest!!

On Tuesday, we went on a letter hunting adventure! We first looked at the list of letters we needed to find, which were ‘A’ ‘B’ ‘D’ ‘H’ ‘M’ ‘N’ ‘L’ ‘S’. We talked about words which start with each letter on the list; for example, ‘M for mummy’, ‘S for snake’, ‘L for lion’. The children were really great at thinking of lots of words which fit!

We then looked at the map to find out where to find the letters, which were marked with stars. Everyone was very excited to start the adventure and as they went, they quickly found the letters that were hidden on the way, which was very impressive!! As we found the letters, we also ticked off the list and counted how many we had found and how many more we had left to find. We eventually managed to find all the letters on the list and we high-fived each other!

On another adventure walk this week, we ventured through the park, listening to the crunching of the icy mud underneath our boots. We slid over icy puddles and we stomped so hard trying to crack the ice. It was lovely to see all the gardens covered with tiny shiny icy crystals. Our adventurers seemed fascinated with the beautiful scenery, saying ‘Look, it’s shiny!!’.
