Chiswick - Confidence, Balance and Coordination

Our Week in the Forest

This week at Little Forest Folk Chiswick we have been busy exploring, creating and working together in the forest!

The children enjoyed climbing on the ladder that we made together, developing their confidence, balance and coordination while encouraging one another to take safe risks.

During our adventure walks, we spotted lots of exciting signs of spring. The children carefully looked for new flowers, buds and listened to the birds around us. We were especially excited to spot some beautiful herons during our walk!

In the mud kitchen, the children became fantastic chefs and cooked delicious pretend pizzas using a variety of vegetables as toppings. There were lots of imaginative creations and wonderful conversations about healthy foods and favourite ingredients.

We also explored balancing with the metal pieces that have little notches on them. The children experimented with different ways to balance and build, showing great concentration, patience and problem-solving skills.

Our wormery helpers worked hard feeding the worms and learning about how worms help the environment. The children were very gentle and caring as they looked after them.

In the forest area, our little adventurers enjoyed gardening role play using shovels, trowels and gloves. They planted and arranged different flowers in pots, developing their imagination and learning about caring for plants and nature while developing their motor skills

It has been a lovely week full of exploration, teamwork and outdoor discovery. Thank you for continuing to support your children’s forest school adventures!

🌱 We can’t wait for more forest fun next week! 🌱
