Our Week in the Forest
We have thoroughly enjoyed our first week of Easter holiday camp! It is always enjoyable to see some of our holiday camp alumni return, looking taller and ready for a return to the forest!
Easter fun has been the theme this week! We started the week by saying goodbye to one of our families, who are relocating. They kindly gifted us some bird feeders, so we decided to go on an adventure walk on the child’s last day to find places to hang these special gifts up! Children enjoyed finding high-up places for them and we have said we will go back and check how the feeders are doing when we next go out on a walk!
On Tuesday, Shahana got the children to line up, as it was time for our egg and spoon race! The old school classic that provides the ultimate challenge between racing each other and hand/eye co-ordination! Whilst it’s never an easy thing to do, it was great to see the children be so keen to give it their best try!
We did an Easter egg hunt on Wednesday using toy eggs! Children were given a basket to hold to collect up any eggs that they found. We developed this further by asking them if they could find a particular coloured egg, this provided the children the opportunity to test their knowledge and problem solving skills, as some children had to really resist the urge to just collect any coloured egg they could find!
We hope you’ve all had a great first week of Holiday Camp, enjoy the long weekend and we’ll look forward to seeing you all next week!.
