Fulham - Science Experiments & Play Dough

We’ve had a super week in the Fulham Forest! The children have really enjoyed participating in lots of adult-led activities which have kept them very entertained and learning lots of new things.

At the beginning of the week the children got to create their own play dough from scratch, which was great fun, mixing all the ingredients together getting to learn about how it changed and formed into dough.

Towards the middle of the week an AMAZING science experiment took place. One of the mornings the children helped to create and make a volcano 🌋 in the creative area. In the afternoon we then made a magic potion by mixing bicarbonate soda and vinegar together to make our volcano erupt!

Working and developing our fine motor skills this week, the children got to explore jelly. When our explorers looked closely into the jelly, they could see that there were some mysterious wooden numbers hidden inside! Using pincers, the children had to try and attempt to get the numbers from the jelly, a fun activity enjoyed by everyone!

We have also had an opportunity for some important tool work this week; using the bow saw to make some elder beads and threading the elder onto some twine to turn them into cool, stylish necklaces.

There have also been some really cool dens built in camp this week, which have inspired some imaginative play, turning the dens into houses and pirate ships! It’s always great to see our explorers’ imaginations flowing!

What a wonderful week it’s been, we can’t wait to see you all next week for lots more fun!
