Our Week in the Forest
Hello everyone & Happy Friday! It seems we have experienced all the seasons in one week. It started off chilly & wet and it has now ended with full beam sunshine! ☀️
Our week we have been focused on our little ones' literacy development. We have had a variety of fabulous activities which our adventurers have done an amazing job with.
One of our favourites was our missing alphabet activity. Although the alphabet was displayed, many letters were missing! Working together, our friends carefully figured out which letters were needed and decided who would write each one. By the end of the activity we had a completed alphabet created entirely through teamwork. Everyone felt very proud of what they had achieved together!
Another fun literacy-based activity we enjoyed was threading. Using letter stencils they threaded the yarn through the holes to complete the letters.
A fun and new activity was also introduced to our little explorers this week. A huge squishy paint pocket for mark making and colour mixing fun. Together with an educator our little ones cut and laid out sticky back plastic onto a large wooden board which we then poured yellow, red and blue paint onto and then laid another layer of sticky back plastic on top to make the giant squishy paint pocket. The children had such a blast doing this as it also paired with sensory fun.
We hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend & make sure to keep safe in the hot sun! ☀️
