Wimbledon Village - Giggles and Games Under the Tarps

Our Week in the Forest

As the sun sets on a soggy week, we reminisce on all the fun we’ve had in the forest.

Under all the tarps we managed to read stories and play sleeping doggy’s. With so many tarps up, we explored how to make our own pond using gutters and buckets. We collected and directed the water into the tuff tray and then put fish and fishing nets into the pond. To keep warm we sang the silly banana song and did lots of running around, which provided lots of giggles!

On Friday, we made our very own forest birdfeeders using coconut oil, bird seed, Weetabix and fruit. Our Little Forest Folk-ers mushed these ingredients together to create a mix that was then placed inside empty coconut shells, to then be used as the natural bird feeders.

Sam organised a great sawing activity this week too and the children had the opportunity to chop their very own wood cookies, which they then later painted and decorated how they liked.

We have also enjoyed learning more about wealth and the use of food banks. Please continue to drop any food bank donations to the team at the nursery!

Have a great weekend one and all!
