Wimbledon Village - Little Forest Folk Launderette

Our Week in the Forest!

We have had a great week in the forest, and have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming back our sessional children! We have enjoyed a wide array of activities this week, which have presented new learning opportunities for us all.

On Monday, we had a very random downpour of hailstones, which meant we had the chance to quickly grab some cups and containers to collect our little balls of ice! As quick as we had collected these, the sun came up and melted them away … very strange weather!

On Tuesday, our Little Forest Folk launderette opened, using a very aesthetically pleasing washing machine that Shahana had made out of cardboard boxes! Our little explorers had a great time washing the hand towels and hanging them up on the washing line which was gently hung between two trees in the forest.

We have also enjoyed an activity led by Jordan, which involved using some beads with letters on, to make our own bracelets! Not only did this help the children to investigate what letters are in their names, it also challenged them to thread these onto the string using their fine motor skills!

Have a great weekend everyone, and see you next week!
