Wimbledon -Frogs and Tadpoles at Little Forest Folk

This week we have been lucky enough to use the outdoor area at the scout hut and the children have absolutely loved it! We have enjoyed long days out in the woods, exploring the area and also going out on adventure walks to the local park.

We went on an adventure mission, looking for frogs, tadpoles and other creatures using notepads to check off the things that we found. We also took sand timers to see how far we could get in different amounts of time, discussing numbers and counting how many steps we could take too.

We have also been lucky enough to have the opportunity to do some baking this week as we have had access to a kitchen! The children made an apple crumble using knives to cut the apples and mixing them with a muesli topping, before baking it in the oven to make a delicious treat! We also made banana bread where the children measured, mixed and mashed all the ingredients to create another delicious snack!

Other activities that we have taken part in this week have included making mosaic art with painted sheets, testing our balancing skills on the slack line and creating delicious mud kitchen recipes around our 'camp fire'! Although it’s been a different week, it’s been so much fun and very exciting to be able to still do all of our favourite things and more, just in a different location!
