Our Week in the Forest
Winter is coming ❄️
It’s been another wonderful week here in Morden. We’ve all been adjusting to the colder temperatures and our little adventurers have shown that you can have just as much fun bundled up as you can in the sunshine!
We began the week with an adventure walk, an extra special one, as we explored parts of the woods we hadn’t visited before. This was such an exciting experience, giving our explorers the chance to discover new woodland scenery! ⭐️
Our focus this week has been Understanding the World, with a particular emphasis on noticing and appreciating the differences in people. We’ve had so much fun learning about different cultures and exploring what makes each person unique and why those unique qualities should be celebrated!
We enjoyed reading some of our favourite books related to this theme, including I Love My Hair, Eyes That Kiss in the Corners, We All Belong and Me on the Map. ⭐️
Our budding artists then created their own self-portraits. Using mirrors and a variety of materials; pens, crayons, string, ribbon and paint, they had the freedom to express themselves in their own unique and creative ways.
And of course, one of the highlights of the week was the snowfall! We loved watching it drift gently at first and then fall more heavily. Such a magical moment for everyone! ⭐️
