Morden - Pond Construction and Understanding the World

As we wrap up our second to last week of the term, we’re thrilled to share the wonderful adventures we’ve had! The week was brimming with hands-on learning, exploration and a whole lot of fun!

One of the most exciting moments was “constructing a pond” right in our car park - completely from scratch! Our curious little learners gathered pebbles, layered the base with sand and worked together to bring the pond to life. It was a fantastic opportunity to develop teamwork and fine motor skills, while also sparking conversations about natural habitats.

This week’s focus was ✨Understanding the World✨, our children certainly embraced their inner explorers. With adventure hats on, we set off on a nature walk to observe the wonders around us. Along the way, the children identified leaves of various shapes, sizes and colours, then compared them to ones found in our very own forest area - a wonderful way to connect observation with discovery.

Midweek, we embarked on a “Safari through the forests of China”, where we explored the habitat of the giant panda. Our little adventurers were captivated as they learned about these gentle creatures and their environment.

We also celebrated “International Snake Day”! The children were fascinated to learn about the different types of slithering snakes around the world. To top it off, they created their own colourful snake cutouts, combining creativity with knowledge.

We’re eagerly looking forward to the final week of term, filled with even more memorable moments and joyful learning!
