Our Week in the Forest
Another fun filled autumnal week comes to a close, we have had great fun learning about all things autumn and Halloween this week!
Jamie gathered the biggest pumpkin he could find, before seeking the help of the children to detail how our orange friend was going to look! We had some child-friendly safety knives at the ready and we carved his face out. We couldn’t quite settle on a name, so we took him back to the indoor nursery to be on display!
On Wednesday, the heavens opened and down came the rain! We decided instead of slip-sliding around our camp, we would head out on a super long adventure walk! We took a flask of peppermint tea and set off on our travels! We found a relatively dry spot, with some natural canopy under a cluster of trees, where we played “What’s the Time Mr Wolf?” and “Who Can Cross the River?" We had our snack time with a hot drink before heading back to our camp.
On Friday, we used the rest of the remains of the inside of the pumpkin to create a sensory Halloween tuff tray! We had pumpkin slime, rats, bats and eyeballs to play with! Whilst it was super messy, we enjoyed feeling around in all the gooey texture to see what we could find!
We hope you all have a spooky weekend and we look forward to seeing you all next week!
