Wimbledon Village - Treasure Maps and Music Makers

Our Week in the Forest!

This week in the forest has seen great changes in the weather but this has not stopped our fun (...just lots of changes in clothing!).

We started our week by visiting the ducks who really appreciated the food we had to give them. Whilst at the pond we talked about all the different kinds we could see. We spoke about how the male ducks have all the bright colours.

During the middle of our week it was suggested that maps should be made, so some of our little adventurers promptly went off and made treasure maps, whilst some of our other little ones wanted to make maps so we didn’t get lost on the way back from the forest!

Music has been very popular this week and some of the children made their own band to sing big hits like Golden, Frozen and APT APT - the rest of the children used the forest like a giant dance floor, with lots of fun and giggles to accompany the awesome tunes.

Towards the end of the week we used blocks to create towers, exploring the best shapes to use. Carrying on with creativity we made our own woodland collage pointing out some of the leaves such as oak and maple - this is now hanging up at base for all to see!

At the end of the week some of our explorers’ mummies came in to talk to us about their jobs. It was very exciting to talk with them and take part in little activities too.

We are really looking forward to next week, hope you guys are too!
