Wimbledon - Men's World Cup!

What a lovely week we've had in the forest! The cooler weather was a welcome change after last week's intense heat. Although the paddling pool stayed packed away this time, there was still loads of fun on site!

Our conversations have continued around the many nationalities represented within our nursery community, along with the little ones' love of travelling and exploring different places. This naturally linked with the excitement of the Men's World Cup, sparking lots of discussion and creative play.

Throughout the week, the little ones have been busy making flags to represent countries from around the world. We spotted lots of England flags proudly being waved, alongside plenty of wonderfully imaginative flags for made-up countries too! It was fantastic to see their creativity shine and hear the stories behind their unique creations.

Our adventure walks have been another highlight, with the little ones enjoying longer explorations through the forest. They were particularly fascinated by the construction work taking place along the muddy path, eagerly stopping to observe the machinery and chat with their educators about what was happening.

Imaginative play has flourished this week, especially with our collection of animals. The children have worked together to create enclosures, transform areas into zoos, and take on the roles of both animals and dedicated zookeepers. It has been wonderful to watch their teamwork, storytelling and creativity develop through these shared experiences.

There was also plenty of excitement as everyone gathered to watch England play Senegal. The match created lots of enthusiastic conversations and celebrations, adding to the sense of community throughout the week.

To round off a fantastic week, our little ones enjoyed making special 4th of July treats on Friday in preparation for the celebrations over the weekend. It was a lovely opportunity to learn about another cultural celebration while enjoying some delicious creations together.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another week of adventures!
