We have had a wonderful week in the forest! The children have enjoyed lots of fun activities, and we even had visits from our families for stay and play. It was lovely to have families come in and see what our Little Forest Folk-ers get up to on a day-to-day basis, and to also join in with some of our favourite games.
We have had some lovely calming activities this week for Mental Health Awareness week, and we have been focusing on the space around us to see what we can create with nature. Some of the children made nature windows, where they collected items from around the forest and attached them to some sticky tape on a cardboard ring. We could then see through the ring and look at all of the beautiful items we had collected.
We also spent time this week making buttercup headbands, looking at the insects living in the long grass and cloud watching.
Another activity was the forest spa! We had a chill out zone with books, a foot spa and some lovely fans to help us in the hot weather. The children also then enjoyed some time with Oobleck, feeling the cornflour and water mixture between their hands and testing it with different items to pour it between.
It has been such a fun and exciting week, and we can’t wait to see what we get up to next!
