Morden - Winter Walks & Summer Fruits!

Our Week in the Forest

What a wonderful week back in the forest!

Hello & happy Friday everyone! This week at Little Forest Folk Morden has been a fully packed adventure, bursting with fun, laughter and exciting discoveries.

One fun new introduction this week has been our brand-new trains and train tracks! The collective joy and curiosity these little additions have brought has been amazing to watch. Our adventurers have been busy discovering creative new ways to build their tracks, including flipping the curved pieces upside down to create clever bridges. The imagination on display has been truly brilliant.

Earlier in the week, we were treated to a beautiful winter morning, with the soft sun shining through the crisp air. In our opinion, it was the perfect weather for an adventure walk. The highlight of our walk was spotting a massive puddle that simply had to be splashed in! It was so big, in fact, that one of our educators got stuck in the mud and our adventurers jumped straight into action, eager to rescue.

Overall, the biggest highlight of the week was our “Handa’s Surprise” story time. Some of our teachers began by re-enacting the story, which quickly turned into a flavourful and exciting hands-on experience. Using all the fruits from the story; banana, guava, orange, mango, pineapple, avocado and of course tangerines our adventurers came together to make fresh, homemade juice.

Everyone worked carefully as a team, cutting up the fruit while being very mindful of their fingers. Our educators carefully placed the fruit into the blender, blended it all up and then poured the mixture into a cheesecloth bag. With lots of squeezing, we pressed out every last drop of juice! Once ready, the fresh juice was poured into cups for everyone to enjoy and it was a huge hit!

This week has been fantastic, we can’t wait to see what exciting adventures next week will bring 🌟
