A number of our LFF children had a wonderful time at the Paradise Co-op Bonfire party on the weekend, so much so that when they arrived on Monday morning they were eager to recreate the magical night!

What a muddy, messy week it’s been in Fishpond Woods. With more mole hills than ever giving the best digging terrain, the children have been getting to grips with the worm-rich soil and imagining all sorts of play with it.

It was a glorious day to be back at Kew again with the sun shining and keeping us warm. Half of the children went on a leaf hunt, filling their hoods with all the different types of leaves they could find.

This week in the forest the children have continued to develop their mark making skills. We have had a number of activities where the children have been able to write, colour or just begin to enjoy holding pencils and crayons by scribbling whatever their imaginations desire.

At LFF Barnes, we have decided to put in a formal application for Mud Swimming to the Olympics committee. This is down to the fact that all of our children would be Gold Medallists!

Holiday campers have filled the forest this week bringing new faces, excitement and adventurous spirit. The forest has been full of challenges with a rope bridge, slacklines, logs to balance along and up and a variety of swings to enjoy.

Holiday! It’s been a wondrous week with our holiday campers, new friends and old. Along with the variety of new faces to the forest, we’ve had most weather conditions too with glorious heat, rain, fog (giving a brilliantly spooky air which the children pretended would yield spooks and skeletons) and gusts!

Roar! The dinosaurs have returned into Fishpond Woods this week. The children decided early in the week that they were “going to the past” and imagined themselves as little dinosaurs hatching from their eggs.

As part of a recent parent survey, we asked parents if they could change one thing about Little Forest Folk, what would it be? The vast majority responded ‘nothing’, which is always lovely to hear.

There were however a small group of parents who responded with ‘do some learning’.
