We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
This week has been very creatively explorative. Our children have experimented with music and sounds as well as creative projects based in clay, paint, construction and role play!
It has been a wonderful week in the forest, a week in which the children have their used fine motor skills to great extent to create fun and interesting objects.
This week the children have excitedly welcomed Jack Frost to the forest! With the frost covering the grass, brambles and trees, the children have been observing these changes and sharing their observations with their friends and educators around them.
All about Leaves! The forest floor is carpeted with an abundance of colourful leaves at the moment. Most of the trees have recently turned bare but the floor is glowing a wonderful golden colour!
Imaginative adventure walks and the children leading the way! We have truly had a week of wonder and awe as we explored our forest this week. The children have been extra imaginative on our adventure walks and have been leading the play through their ideas and directions.
This week the weather has presented the children with a whole range of experiences, from mild mornings more suited to springtime to downpours that have left the forest floor covered in puddles and sticky mud.
“What’s this?” shouted a child a child one day early this week as they peered down onto the ground. A rounded, beautifully decorated piece of ceramic tried to break the surface of the mud underfoot.
We have had a fantastic wet week in the forest here at Wandsworth. Our Little Forest Folk-ers have continued their creative thinking, linking experiences from their home life and incorporating it into their play in the forest.
Ahoy land lovers! It appears the children at Wimbledon have been inspired by the rushing waters of the skies and have set sail on an adventure to the open seas.
Confidence, courage and courtesy have permeated the forest this week! The children have shown a wonderful ability to tackle new challenges and overcome obstacles both physically and emotionally.
With winter well and truly here, the children and educators have been busy keeping active and warm! We have been quite nomadic with our days, doing light set ups so we can keep moving and exploring.
This week has thrown us into those cooler temperatures and thoroughly ensured that we all dug out our thermals, hats and scarves from the back of our wardrobes!
Some people might look at 20 waterproofed children and educators wandering through the forest on a bitterly cold day and question how on earth could that be fun?
