Following the announcement of our Queen’s award in April, we are delighted to share an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in May.
We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
Our Little Forest Folk-ers continue to spend most of their time playing in the mud kitchen with the lovely resources and the water jerry cans! It is amazing how their learning scaffolds each day.
It’s such a pleasure to see the children at Morden growing in their relationships and their ideas for play! Watching the children communicate with each other about their ideas and figuring out how to fairly take turns independently has been great to watch!
We ended last week with some preparation for our very exciting Pirate themed week. The children enjoyed painting some empty egg cartons which we used as treasure chests in our pirate activities.
Once again, the children of Twickenham have had a busy week in the forest with lots of fun-filled activities. A big interest this week has been cooking and so the children have all been busy making both mud and real cakes!
Books, bugs and picnics have been amongst the many highlights of our week in the forest. Books are more than just entertaining for our children, we use them as an important tool that supports the development of concentration, listening, communication and language skills.
Our forest is always the hub of excitement and fun, and this week has been no different. We have had so many amazing activities for our children to take part in and they have loved sharing these with their friends.
This week at Chiswick has been our first week of merging bubbles! It has been lovely becoming one big group again, whilst bubbles have been so beneficial it has been so exciting to see friends reignite, new friendships beginning to spark and to be one team again.
Our Little Forest Folkers have been delighted with the recent resources that our amazing parents so kindly donated to the mud kitchen! We’ve had a new member joining our Little Forest Folk family and the children have been ever so welcoming, kind and supportive.
We’ve had a busy week of lots of fantastic play, exploring, and relationship building! Children in the Sessional Hedgehog group started the week with collecting up our favourite play resources, like the binoculars, bottles, our small cash register, and opening up our ‘forest shop’!
We ended last week with some glorious sunshine and some crafty activities. Some of the children built an amazing fairy town with a ladder to the tree-tops, soft pillowy beds made from twigs and catkin fluff. The town even had a wall for protection and a swimming pool for cooling off!
We’ve had another busy week in the forest as our children have been continuing to work very hard on our bug hotel project. This week the children continued their practise of using tools and could remember all of our safety rules when using them.
This week in the forest, we've had a few birthdays! We've celebrated with songs and mud birthday cakes and seen some children transition from wearing a yellow high vis vest to proudly wearing an orange high vis now that they’re older.
It has been another busy and exciting week at Wimbledon this week! The sun has been shining, the birds have been singing and the baby bunnies have been hopping around on the meadow.
What a wonderful week we have had in the forest with our Little Forest Folk-ers! The children have been enjoying the nice warm weather and it has been lovely to see them play.
The children ended last week continuing to enjoy the pungent potion making using different herbs, food colouring and water to concoct some magical mixtures.
“I want to be the first person to fly. With wings!” said one of our children last week. Dreaming big is one of the most charming things about being young.
The blossom is out, the butterflies have arrived, and everyone has been enjoying the sunshine in the forest. It’s been a week full of adventures and exploring, and the lovely weather has just added on to how amazing the week has been!
