Following the announcement of our Queen’s award in April, we are delighted to share an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in May.
We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
What a beautiful week we have had in the forest this week. With the sun shining and the summer weather here, the children made new friends and were reunited with old as we began to merge our bubbles. The foxes and parakeets have loved getting together each afternoon to play with their new and old friends, sharing their interests as friendships blossom.
When you walk into our forest site at Wimbledon you are overwhelmed by the yellow buttercups that cover the meadow, the fresh grass that is growing everywhere and the bees buzzing from flower to flower. It is a hive of activity at this time of year and watching our children enjoy it every day is such a joy!
We’ve had an amazing week in the forest. The fabulous sunshine and the warmer temperature gave us the perfect opportunity to bring back summer clothes and super cool hats! This week, our children welcomed our holiday campers with kindness, inviting them into their play and sharing different experiences with them.
This week the children have all been very creative in their constructions. We’ve had some very elaborate and wonderful places made within our forest including our very own Forest School train station. The children laid out planks of wood parallel to each other to create a train track and put sticks in between to create the sleepers that join the tracks together.
What an incredible week we’ve had in the forest! The children have been so excited with a couple of ducks that have been wondering around the Palace. They have walked so quietly, whispering to each other, whilst pointing at the ducks, talking to them and have watched so patiently whilst they drank water which was stored in the grass with their beaks.
Morden has been full of creative play, and care for our plant life this week! The children have been taking lots of opportunities to work on our growing boxes at the front of the site. We’ve been enjoying looking at what all the different seeds look like and finding words to compare them, “These seeds are smaller than these ones!” and “Sunflower seeds are stripey like a zebra!”.
