Over the past few days, we’ve rolled over the play ideas of the children that all very much enjoyed being pirates or sailors last week. From the very start of the day after breakfast, children have been rolling, lifting, and shifting all the logs, planks, nets and parts into even more magnificently mountainesque galleons fit for a formidable crew.

This week the Bowling field mornings have energetically begun with some bold and brilliant constructions using lots of loose parts. With logs, planks, sticks, tyres, pipe cladding, and nets, children of all ages have been highly involved in making obstacle courses, pirate ships, houses and homes, garages, and shops!

Starting the week with spectacular amounts of sunshine in the great outdoors is wonderful! Sunshine means shadows; whether long, tall, wide, or short our children love them and earlier this week we wobbled our wiggly limbs and did dangly dances with our “friends on the floor”.
