We’ve been bursting with excitement and now that it’s the Queen’s birthday and the official announcement day, we are absolutely delighted to finally share with you the news that Little Forest Folk has been given the royal seal of approval.
Following our being selected by Tatler as being one of the finest nurseries in the nation last month, we are now delighted to share with you an article written about Little Forest Folk by a journalist who visited us in our Wimbledon setting a few weeks ago.
Well, this weekend was the long awaited Nursery World Awards! It was a fabulous event and we were delighted to be recognised in such a large industry such as the early years to be one of the industry leaders.
‘Wouldn’t we all secretly like to be Little Forest Folk?' We are incredibly excited and proud to be included once again in the prestigious annual Tatler Nurseries Guide.
With all the beautiful colours that have popped up around the forest this spring, we’ve been taking inspiration from the gorgeous flowers and bright sunshine by experimenting with some water colour painting!
This week has seen pirates galore, flooding the forest with their cunning ways and hunting for treasure using maps and telescopes made from tissue paper rolls.
After a wonderful sunny weekend, our adventurers and educators returned to see our forest in full bloom, almost overnight our canopy came alive with every shade of green. The blue sky barely able to peep through to say ‘hello’.
What a fantastic week we’ve had in the forest. The children have been enjoying our walks to the forest every morning, visiting the duck family that wanders around the garden.
We ended last week with Stay and Play and what a wonderful way this was to end our fantastic week! The children enjoyed experimenting with different sounds in the music area using our shiny new boom whackers and other wonderful musical instruments.
We’ve had another fantastic week of forest adventures and exploration. Many of our older children are becoming interested in science experiments and learning how things work.
The consistently good weather called for the start of some face painting this week! Courtesy of some deft paintbrush artistry by Nicol and the wonderful playworker Katie, several children chose from a selection of examples and had their own ideas about what they wanted to be too.
This week we have been greeted by warmer weather and some lovely sunshine in the forest at Wimbledon, and our children have been enjoying every minute of it!
We’ve had lots of paper rolled out along the gazebo for the children to get creative, and we experimented with using different types of stamps one morning!
This week, we have all enjoyed having some “Stay and Play” parents come to visit, and it’s been great to see you get stuck into the forest way of life much like all the children do.
