Chiswick - A Home Made Ladder and an Exciting Climbing Challange

Our Week in the Forest

We have had another wonderful week full of adventure, creativity, and outdoor learning in the forest in the crazy weather!

This week the children have been exploring number recognition and practising reciting numbers using puzzle pieces. Our little adventurers enjoyed matching numbers together, counting carefully, and building confidence with number sequencing through play.

The children also worked together to help make a climbing ladder using strong sticks. They showed fantastic teamwork and determination while learning how to climb safely and challenging themselves by climbing up high. It has been lovely to see their confidence continue to grow.

On our adventure walks, our Little Forest Folk-ers explored climbing trees and developing their balance and coordination. They especially enjoyed climbing carefully and supporting one another as they explored the forest.

During our walks we also spent time learning about rhododendrons and observing different flowers growing around us. The children were curious about the colours, shapes and textures they discovered in nature and enjoyed talking about the different plants they could see.

Our creative area has been busy too! Our little explorers used clay with garden bug rolling pins to make wonderful patterns and bug-inspired creations. This activity helped strengthen fine motor skills while encouraging imaginative play.

In the mud kitchen the children made beautiful leaf kebabs by carefully threading leaves onto sticks. They showed great concentration and patience while exploring different leaf sizes, colours and textures.

It has been a fantastic week of exploration, resilience, creativity, and outdoor fun.

We look forward to another exciting week ahead!
