Chiswick - A Lush Sunny Week, Sunglasses on Making the Most of Outdoor Life!

Our Week in the Forest
What a lush, sunny week we’ve had in the forest after the Easter bank holiday! The brighter days have brought so much energy and joy and we’ve been making the most of every moment outdoors.

It’s been another fantastic week with our holiday campers - it has been so lovely to welcome you back and see so many familiar faces enjoying the forest again. The sense of community and friendship has been truly special.

The mud kitchen has been incredibly busy this week, with the children fully committed to their grand mission of digging the deepest hole ever! This ongoing project has sparked teamwork, determination and lots of muddy fun, with everyone getting involved and sharing ideas on how to dig even deeper.

Role play has been a big focus, with the children enjoying playing ‘families’. They took on the roles of mums and dads, while the educators became the children - which meant we had to do some very good listening! These playful role reversals created lots of laughter and helped the children explore communication, empathy, and responsibility.

It has also been a week full of music and performance. With sunglasses on and the sunshine beaming down, the children enjoyed relaxing, performing and creating their own rhythms and songs. The forest has been filled with music, movement and joyful energy.

Our adventures took us across the meadow, where we explored and searched for bugs, observing the tiny creatures that live around us. These moments encouraged curiosity and helped deepen our connection with the natural world.

Creativity has been flowing all week. The children have been busy making woodland jewellery, building dens to hide from dragons and bringing their imaginative ideas to life through play and construction. It’s been wonderful to see such rich, child-led creativity unfold.

It’s been a joyful, sunny week full of exploration, imagination and connection - we can’t wait for more adventures next week!
