We have had such an exciting and amazing stay and play week! We were so happy to welcome some of our wonderful parents into the forest to join us in play and discovery.
We kick started the week with some very sunny, beautiful weather where there were so many opportunities for climbing and many of our friends challenged themselves to balance on logs, climb tree trunks and swing through the trees with joy and determination.
Creativity flowed at camp, where the children engaged in calming, focused moments with clay-rolling, shaping and pressing it with leaves to create stunning natural prints. Some children experimented with making clay creatures and forest-inspired sculptures, enjoying the sensory experience and working on those all-important fine motor skills.
Towards the middle of week, the weather changed and the sky decided to show more clouds, but we still enjoyed painting, using stencils to paint great blooming flowers! 🌺 We used this opportunity to talk about bumblebees and pollination. 🐝
Our little explorers love playing with the doctor set and transforming into doctors with their special lanyards on - they were even prescribing antibiotics to some parents! The stethoscope was our little ones’ favourite tool to check on the adults’ chests whilst instructing them to breathe in and out. Later, some teddies became sick and our adventurers were making a special medicine for them in the mud kitchen using different colours of petals.
Puzzles were another top favourite option for the children this week. They practiced their problem solving skills while completing a Zog puzzle! They were absolutely amazing at choosing the correct pieces, especially great at concentrating to finish the whole puzzle.
We got busy preparing a delicious flower salad for our Dino Café while practicing our numbers 🥗 We also explored letters and name writing using sand and glue - an exciting way to build fine motor skills and letter recognition. Then, our café magically transformed into a garage, where we built speedy cars and zoomed through the forest! The adventure continued as our garage became a boat and we set sail across the ocean on a sea of imagination.
Throughout the week, the forest was filled with laughter, chatter and a lovely sense of community as children played alongside their peers and visiting family members.
Thanks again to all the parents that joined us this week! It was amazing having you there with us 😊
