Our Week in the Forest
Christmas Crafting has been non-stop in the forest! With our Expressive Arts and Design intent for this week we've been super creative exploring colours, textures and shapes through all of our play!
One of our favourite crafting activities has been decorating our cardboard Christmas trees using big brushes, small brushes, natural materials and super bright colours! This activity was all about free choice and letting the creative juices flow.
Our Little Forest Folk-ers had a wonderfully playful time mixing seed flour with tiny bits of pine to whip up their own magical reindeer food. With jugs tied to the roof of the gazebo with string, they scooped, sprinkled, and imagined Santaโs reindeer swooping down to enjoy their special treat. The simple, nature-friendly ingredients made the activity a real outdoor adventure with a dash of Christmas magic.
The children had a really imaginative time snipping cardboard boxes, squeezing glue and piecing together all sorts of quirky creations as they dove into junk modelling. With scissors in hand and scraps scattered everywhere, they pretended to be Santaโs busy elves working away in the workshop. Laughter and chatter filled the room as they crafted toy machines, elf tools and magical gadgets - each masterpiece bursting with creativity, teamwork and festive cheer!
