Chiswick - Celebrating Together at The Christmas Party

Our Week in the Forest

Thank you so much to everyone who was able to join us for our Christmas party last week. We had such a wonderful time celebrating together and it was truly special to share the festive joy with our forest families. For those who couldn’t attend, don’t worry - all gifts and creations have been carefully saved and we’ll make sure they are handed out as soon as we see you after the holidays.

This week we have continued fully embracing the festive spirit in the forest. Singing Christmas songs has become one of our absolute favourite activities, the children have loved creating their own actions and dances to go with the music. Our very own version of Jingle Bells has been a huge hit and is now a regular soundtrack to our days, helping us explore rhythm, movement and musical expression in a playful and joyful way.

Inspired by festive costumes and stories, our role play has taken us all around the world as Santa’s helpers. The children took turns pretending to be Santa, delivering presents across snowy lands and solving festive problems along the way. From fixing broken sleighs and dealing with cheeky reindeer to making magical potions to help Rudolf fly, our little elves showed wonderful teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills. We even wrapped presents and carefully checked Santa’s list - twice - to make sure everyone was on the nice list!

Our creative area has been buzzing with festive crafts. The children delighted in using glitter, sparkles and shimmery pompoms to create Christmas trees, cards, wreaths, tinsel and decorations. Alongside this, we have been developing our 3D skills with clay, rolling smooth balls and stacking them carefully to create snowmen, strengthening both fine motor skills and spatial awareness.

What a joy it has been to prepare for the holiday season together, sharing laughter, creativity and festive magic in the forest.

Just a gentle reminder that we are open on 22nd and 23rd December, with full-day children attending as usual.

Tuesday is Christmas PJ Day — we’ll be having another small festive celebration indoors, so feel free to come dressed in your cosiest Christmas pyjamas!
