Chiswick - Exploring, Playing and Creating!

We have had another wonderful week here at Little Forest Folk Chiswick, continuing to soak up the summer sunshine and the joy of our holiday camps. The children have been busy exploring, playing and creating, filling our meadow and camp with laughter and imagination.

🌼 Meadow Adventures
The wide-open space of the meadow gave us the perfect setting for plenty of energetic games! Tag, Stuck in the Mud, What's the Time Mr Wolf and Red Light were particular favourites, with everyone racing around and enjoying the freedom of running through the long grass. As we explored, the children noticed lots of spiky balls on the ground. With curiosity and care, we investigated and discovered that these were chestnut shells that had fallen from the tall chestnut trees surrounding the meadow. Inside, the shiny brown chestnuts sparked wonder and conversation about the changing seasons ahead.

🏕 Camp Creations
Back at camp, the sand corner was a hive of activity. Castles, forts, and imaginative landscapes took shape as the children worked together, using sticks, leaves and natural treasures to decorate their designs. Creativity didn’t stop there – we also experimented with marble painting, watching how the colours swirled into beautiful patterns and tried out tie-dye, making vibrant, colourful designs to take home.

🦉 Animal Adventures
Our animal theme continued to inspire us this week. We shared stories full of creatures big and small, sparking ideas for crafts where children created their very own animals to add to our growing collection. This theme has been a lovely way to connect storytelling, art and imagination.

Wishing you all a restful weekend and we look forward to more summer fun together next week!
