This week we’ve finished the term with a fabulous celebration of everything our Little Forest Folk-ers have enjoyed over the summer. There was dancing, music, fairy lights, disco ball, a drum and bass stage (with all the pots and pans to bang out some progressive beats), a dance tent featuring techno nursery rhymes with DJ Lenny Pearce and kids waving foam sticks with flashing lights inside!
The festival fashion included colourful scarves, butterfly wings, feather boas and home made headscarves made from old pillow cases and dotty markers - accessorised with welly boots and waterproofs when the rain came out!
In between making and dancing to the music our children were frequently found at the juice bar, pouring, stirring and mixing brightly coloured drinks, garnished with ‘mint’ (forest ferns) and straws (sticks). We had so much fun, we were glad our budding photographers captured it all with our instant cameras!
The fun continued later in the week as we swapped festivities in order to operate the superhero hotline in the garden. Soon we had lots of little superheroes running around putting out fires and rescuing animals as we all donned superhero costumes, made masks and worked together to make our little corner of the world a safer place, whilst having a great deal of fun, as you can see!
