Fulham - Music In The Mud Kitchen

What a good week it’s been in the Fulham Forest this week. We started off the week really thinking about germs! Especially germs on our teeth. The children found great fun in the activity prepared for them to learn more about germs and why it is important to brush our teeth. Using laminated sheets of ‘teeth’ the children were able to visually see drawn germs and, using toothbrushes and foam to represent toothpaste, the children practised removing all the germs from the teeth to make them all clean.

Having Joe in the forest with us this week has inspired the children to become musical with our mud kitchen pots and pans; turning them into drums to make music.

The costumes came out in the forest this week too, which has created some fun open-ended role play for our children. Everyone has enjoyed becoming various different characters and animals!

We’ve also had some great group games to encourage number practice and counting, such as ‘what’s the time Mr Wolf’ has been great fun and a great way for us to stay warm on these frosty cold days.

Towards the end of the week we filled our time with lots of physical activities such as a great climbing wall and also some craft work, cutting and using the scissors and we have had lots of fun moulding and creating different things with the clay too.

We hope you all have lovely, restful weekends!
