Happy Friday!
It’s been a chilly week in the forest! We have had moments of sunshine ☀️ and our adventurers are noticing more and more green shoots appearing, getting ready for Spring!
It has been an active week where we have run, jumped and climbed our way into a spaceship! Some even saw planets! ‘I see Mars, Jupiter and Saturn!’ 🪐 We tried to direct our spaceship to the moon however it was redirected to a giant planet - Saturn!! Upon landing we noticed lifeforms! They chased us back to our ship where we counted down to take off and shot back to Earth, where we landed safely in the forest!
Fire circles have been another highlight of the week! Many have had the opportunity to get up close and personal with tools and creating sparks! Following Sarah’s instructions and patiently waiting their turn to get hands on! Holding tools steady and pushing down quickly with pressure (tricky skill) creates a spark! Once we have lit the quick burn materials we can watch the fire grow 🔥 ‘Wow the fire’s dancing, look’ ‘It’s growing so tall it’s getting bigger and bigger.’ ‘It’s hot - if you go too close you will burn yourself!’ ‘Use your fire gloves Sarah!!’
Rosie helped everyone manipulate clay into plates, cups and bowls to use in our mud kitchen! ‘I made tracks in mine - train tracks!’ ‘Flat plate for fruit.’ Tools were used to create patterns and shapes! The pizza cutter ‘trimmed’ off edges. The rolling pin was used to ‘bash.’ In the end we designed two bowls for the mud kitchen! ‘We can make soup’
