Our Week in the Forest
At the end of a blustery week, let’s look back at some of our highlights and discussion points from our 5 days!
We have been focusing a lot on independence, how we can promote it and encouraging our little people to try and manage obstacles and challenges before seeking help. We have amalgamated this into our play by hosting activities that help promote these values!
We met Bamboo the (cuddly toy) monkey this week! He is a monkey that is practicing his “toilet training” and so children were helping to take him to the toilet as otherwise he would do a (pincecone) poo in his trousers!
We have enjoyed climbing on our newly made tripod structure that we built in the forest too! This allows us to practice our climbing and turn-taking skills!
On Wednesday, Jamie led us on a BIG walk with a hilly incline and we went down past Caesars well, up through the heathland and onto a big hill, before we found a path that brought us back to camp! By the time we got back, our legs were tired so it was time for a snack!
We also used the tripod structure to hold a puppet show! Shahana told us stories using finger-puppets, before we had our own turn to do the same.
On Friday, we ended the week with a trip to the bookshop, as one of our families recently gifted us some book vouchers, so we went to spend them in the local village bookshop. A big thank you again for the kind gesture!
We have had a fun-filled week and look forward to seeing you all again next week!
