Morden - ⭐️ Mathematical Hopscotch & a Huge Frog Scavenger Hunt!

Our Week in the Forest

Our week at Little Forest Folk Morden has been nothing short of educational! 🌼

Our intent for the fortnight is maths and we have been including this in our set-ups and activities in the most fun ways possible. 🌸

We started off the maths theme with a mathematical hopscotch. Using a dice we jumped and counted our numbers! We also had multiple games of ‘what’s the time Mr Wolf’ & ‘hide and seek’ which both promote counting - we challenged our little ones to count to bigger numbers the more games we played. Our little adventurers have done so well and have been very interested with learning new maths terminology from our word flowers. 🌸

One of the highlights of our week was a huge frog scavenger hunt! The little ones explored the forest to find special stones for our frog’s lily pads. They worked together as a team and did an amazing job counting! Each lily pad was a different colour and the children had to find stones that matched each colour to complete the activity.🌼

After our literacy intent last week we have had a massive focus on our books and how we can take better care of them. One of our educators has reintroduced our book hospital where broken & ripped books get placed to be repaired. We have also had an introduction of some new books this week which has really sparked the interest in reading and made everyone very happy. We are excited for some future plans which promote reading & the different ways we can keep reading exciting and fresh. 🌼

Lastly, we have been heavy with our planting this week, from sowing radish, carrot and onion seeds to planting some beautiful orange and pink primroses. 🌸

We’ve ended the week a little windy but we are grateful for the wonderful fun we have all had - have a beautiful weekend everyone!!🌸
